Nintendo Switch Lite is a compact, lightweight console with built-in controls that expands the Nintendo Switch family, compatible with all Nintendo Switch software that can be played in portable mode.

About the console:

A console designed for travelling: Following the Switch, Nintendo now offers a Lite version of its flagship console, specifically designed for on-the-go use and for children: More compact and lighter than its big sister, the Switch Lite still retains the excellent ARM Cortex-A57 processor and Tegra X1 graphics chipset to ensure an optimal gaming experience. Since the Switch Lite is designed for portable use, it cannot be connected to a TV or used in desktop mode, as the Joy-Cons are not included. However, it has built-in controls and is still compatible with all Nintendo Switch software that can be used in portable mode. What's more, you can still sync up to 8 Switch or Switch Lite devices for a great multiplayer experience, and Nintendo Switch Online subscription is still available!

Play Where You Want: Designed to be used in portable mode, the Nintendo Switch Lite has built-in controls that replace the Joy-Con controllers, which are not included. However, Joy-Con controllers can be purchased separately and connected wirelessly to the Switch Lite. Due to its smaller size compared to the standard Switch (91.1 x 208 x 13.9 mm vs. 102 x 239 x 13.9 mm), the Lite version is easy to carry around and allows you to play your favourite games on the go, on holiday or simply on the sofa! However, it cannot be connected to a TV, as it is intended for mobile use. However, you won't be limited in your choice of games because Switch Lite is compatible with all Switch applications that can be used in portable mode.

Compatibility: Take your favourite games with you at all times If a game is compatible with Joy-Con controller features such as HD rumble, IR motion camera and motion sensors, some features will not be available when using Nintendo Switch Lite on its own. To take advantage of them, Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) are required. To use titles that are not compatible with handheld mode, players can connect Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) wirelessly with Nintendo Switch Lite. In these cases, a device capable of charging the Joy-Con controllers, such as the Joy-Con Charging Grip, is required. Keep in touch: Although the Switch Lite differs from the standard version in several respects, it still retains the essential multiplayer aspect! In local mode, you can always sync up to 8 Switch or Switch Lite devices to play with your friends (in co-op or head-to-head matches) at any time.
